And meanwhile in my job as a City Councilman

Tonight we tried to pass a Domestic Partnership Registry in our city.  It would provide some fundamental basic rights for same sex couples.  Kansas has a constitutional amendment against same sex marriage so registry was the next best thing. The news story is here if you are interested.

Long story short it failed, 4-5.  I was in the minority.

A friend sent me this quote by Theodore Roosevelt after the vote, I feel every bit of it tonight. Every bit of it. 

It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.
